Sri Vijaya Puram, June 12: The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, has planned to conduct the National Immunization Day (NID) for Polio Immunization in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 28th June 2026.
On this day, all children aged 0-5 years will be administered two drops (one dose) of bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine (bOPV) at the designated Polio Booths. This activity will be followed by house-to-house visits by health staff for the next two days to ensure coverage of any left-out children.
A Media Sensitization Workshop has been scheduled on 22nd June 2026 at 10:30 AM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Health Services to orient media personnel and brief them about the National Immunization Day activities for Polio Immunization in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
