Sri Vijaya Puram, June 10: The State Control Room has issued a weather advisory based on the latest IMD forecast, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the coming days.
According to the advisory, weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with gusty winds, are expected on 11 June, while thunderstorms with winds of 40–50 kmph may continue at isolated places during the following days.
Fishermen Advisory
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from 11 June to 14 June 2026 due to squally weather conditions. Winds reaching 40–50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph, are expected along and off the Andaman and Nicobar coasts. The advisory also warns of high sea conditions and wave surges, urging boats to operate with extreme caution.
Farmers Advisory
Farmers have been cautioned about the possibility of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, which could affect agricultural activities. Necessary precautions are advised to minimize potential damage to crops and infrastructure.
