
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 09: Ms. Urmil Kumari, District President, Mayabunder District BJP along With Mr. Dilip Kumar Das, PSM, state Executive Member BJP ANI , Mrs. Chandrawati , ZPM Mayabunder, Mr. Basudev Roy Booth President BJP, Basantipur met Mr.Sushanta Padha, Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman, and raised concerns regarding the pathetic condition of NH-4 from Thoratang Bridge to Basantipur Village.
The delegation informed the Deputy Commissioner that the road has deteriorated significantly, causing immense inconvenience to commuters and posing serious safety risks. They further highlighted that schools are scheduled to reopen next month and that school-going children would be the worst affected by the poor condition of the road.
The delegation requested the Deputy Commissioner to take up the matter with the concerned authorities and ensure necessary repairs and restoration of the road at the earliest.
Mr. Dilip Kumar Das also requested the Deputy Commissioner to provide suitable compensation and relief to the people who have suffered losses due to the recent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. He emphasized that many residents have incurred damages to their houses, agricultural fields, and other properties, and therefore deserve immediate assistance from the Administration.
The Deputy Commissioner reportedly assured the delegation that the issues raised would be examined and appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the rules and provisions of the Administration.
