Sri Vijaya Puram, June 05: CSL AN Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU), a wholly owned unit of Cochin Shipyard Limited, marked World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with a plantation drive held at its Marine Dockyard,Sri Vijaya Puram and in accordance with the Government of India’s “Ek Ped, Maa Ke Naam” campaign by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change/National Afforestation & Eco-Development Board (NAEB) and this year’s global theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”
Officials, employees and trainees of CANSRU participated in the drive, planting saplings at Marine Dockyard to promote greenery within the ship-repair facility and reinforce the unit’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Unit Head Mr. Sreekanth V and Mr. Binu K Kuriakose, AGM graced the occasion and addressed attendees, highlighting the importance of nature-based solutions for combating climate change and preserving ecosystems for future generations.
Speaking at the event, the unit leadership encouraged continued participation in plantation and sustainability initiatives. The drive forms part ofCANSRU’s ongoing efforts to foster a greener workplace and support national campaigns aimed at increasing tree cover and environmental.
