
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 29: MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with Chinmaya YUVA Kendra, a youth wing of Chinmaya Mission, Sri Vijaya Puram, organised a solemn and inspiring programmeon the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar at the Conference Hall of Chinmaya Mission, Near RBV, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The programme commenced with garlanding of the portrait of Veer Savarkar and floral tributes paid by the dignitaries and participants. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth volunteers and members of social organisations.
Mrs. M. Vasantha, Chairperson, Municipal Council, Sri Vijaya Puram, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Shiv Shankar Singh attended the programme as Guest of Honour. Senior Advocate Mr. Tulsi Lal participated as Special Guest.
Mr. Surendra Prahladka, President, Chinmaya Mission, Mr. S. Muthuraman, Ex-Councillor, Swamy Suddha Nanda Swaraswati, Secretary, Chinmaya Mission were also present and grace the occasion.
The dignitaries highlighted the life, patriotism, sacrifice and contribution of Veer Savarkar towards India’s freedom movement and inspired the youth to uphold the values of nationalism, discipline and social service.
As part of the celebration, Essay and Drawing Competitions were organised for students and youth participants. Winners of the competitions were conferred utility prizes and certificates, while all participants were awarded certificates of participation.
The programme was coordinated successfully by Dr. Sunita Patil and Chandra Kumar of Seva Bharti with active support from volunteers and organisers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective resolve to continue promoting the ideals and teachings of Veer Savarkar among the younger generation.
