Sri Vijaya Puram, May 22: Mr. TSG. Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), has expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay in the renovation work of the Chatham Bridge, which continues to cause immense inconvenience to the general public.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration on 22nd May, Mr. Bhasker pointed out that despite repeated representations, there has been no visible progress in the renovation work for nearly one year.
He stated that the continued delay without any official clarification on the project status, timeline, or reasons for the slowdown has created frustration and uncertainty among the people.
He further emphasized that the Chatham Bridge serves as a lifeline for residents of Bambooflat and nearby areas, and such an important public infrastructure project cannot remain stalled indefinitely without proper communication to the public.
Mr. Bhasker urged the Administration to immediately disclose the present status of the renovation work, explain the reasons behind the delay, and announce the expected date of completion. He also called upon the Administration to take urgent measures to expedite the work and restore public confidence.
