Sri Vijaya Puram, May 22: In a touching demonstration of human compassion and community brotherhood, the residents of Harinagar Ward No. 06 came together wholeheartedly to extend their support to the family of Mr. Ajoy Halder, who recently suffered a devastating loss when a catastrophic fire broke out at his residence due to an LPG cylinder leakage.
The fire, which erupted without warning, engulfed the entire house in a matter of moments, leaving the Halder family with nothing to call their own. Despite the prompt and earnest efforts of the local Police team and the Fire Service personnel who rushed to the scene, the intensity of the blaze left them helpless, and the family’s entire household — belongings, shelter and all — was reduced to ashes.
Moved by the plight of their fellow villager, the residents of Harinagar Ward No. 06 wasted no time in calling a community meeting to deliberate upon ways to stand by the grief-stricken family. In a unanimous and spontaneous display of unity, the villagers collectively resolved to bear the responsibility of providing roofing tin sheets for the reconstruction of Mr. Halder’s house, sending out a strong message that no one in their community would be left to face adversity alone.
The villagers pooled their resources and contributed generously to purchase the required number of tin sheets. In a deeply moving ceremony held recently, the residents of Ward No. 06, under the able and kind guidance of Dr. P. K. Mandal and Mr. Nikhil Chakraborty, formally handed over the tin sheets to the victim family. The gesture did not stop there — the compassionate villagers also presented the family with clothing and fresh fruits, ensuring that their immediate needs were addressed with warmth and care.
Speaking on the occasion, the villagers expressed their collective prayer and resolve that whenever any member of their community faces hardship and misfortune, they shall rise together and offer whatever support lies within their means — shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart.
