Billyground, June 10: For the first time in history, the Gram Sabha meeting of Harinagar Panchayat was adjourned today due to lack of quorum. It seems that the Panchayat failed to inform public about the meeting and hence there was hardly any public to attend the crucial Gram Sabha meeting, although most of the officers and PRI members were present on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning here that Harinagar Gram Panchyat was awarded as Best Panchayat Award last year.
When Andaman Sheekha questioned about this failure, Staffs of the Gram Panchayat said that due to heavy rain they were unable to do proper propaganda about the Gram Sabha meeting. However, public of the area told Andaman Sheekha that they have lost faith over the Gram Panchayat because even after conducting several Gram Sabha Meetings the said Panchayat was unable to bring any positive changes in the village since last many years.
