
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 19: CRC A&N Islands in association with Pankh NGO successfully organized a Workshop & Pain Relief Clinic based on Acupuncture and Natural Wellness for parents of special children at CRC A&N Islands on 19th May 2026. The programme aimed to promote the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of caregivers and families of children with special needs.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, children, students from JNRM and ANCOL, staff members, and well-wishers. The session focused on stress management, pain relief, relaxation, holistic wellness, and self-care for parents through natural healing approaches. Children also enjoyed a positive, friendly, and engaging atmosphere during the programme.
Mrs. Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the importance of caregiver wellbeing, inclusive community support, and holistic rehabilitation initiatives for families of special children. The programme was also honoured by the gracious presence of Swami Sudhanandha from Chinmaya Mission.
The event was graced by esteemed guest experts Dr. Rajni Ahuja , Founder of Navyoga, and Dr. M.M. Mehul who conducted awareness and practical demonstration sessions on acupuncture and cupping therapy. Parents and participants were provided with live demonstrations and information regarding natural pain management techniques and wellness practices. The experts also counseled parents regarding posture correction, relaxation methods, and calming techniques beneficial for special children in daily life.
A special segment of the programme was dedicated to acknowledging the generous sponsorship of a PA System to CRC A&N Islands by the Rotary Club of Port Blair through the initiative and support of Rtn. Rajesh Anand, Assistant Governor and Rtn, Arun Srivastava, Secretary, Rotary Club of Portablair. CRC A&N Islands expressed heartfelt gratitude for this valuable contribution towards promoting sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives for the welfare of children and beneficiaries of the institution.
The programme concluded with positive feedback and appreciation from parents and participants, who expressed happiness and gratitude for the thoughtful initiative focused on caregiver wellness and family wellbeing.
