Port Blair, June 09: The Andaman and Nicobar police today sounded caution against those imposters who take money from unemployed youths to get them a job in Andaman and Nicobar Police.
“Instances have come to notice that during recruitment by various police forces in the country some criminal-minded individuals, who at times have not only been police officials but also political workers have tried to project that they can use their influence or fix recruitment. The modus operandi of such conmen is to accept money from gullible individuals on the pretext that they shall be able to use their influence to get them selected. But in reality, they are in no position to exert any such influence,” Sudhir Yadav the Director General of A & N Police said in a press release.
He added that although, all the candidates get finally selected on their merits but out of the final list whosoever is selected, these conmen keep the money taken from such candidates.
“Candidates, who fail to make it to the final list, get their money refunded, after a portion of it is retained as expenses already incurred, and excuses are made that they were late in joining the scheme, etc. People duped by the above process also spend their entire lives feeling they did not deserve the job, but have got it in an underhand way,” the DGP stated.
Sounding caution against such job-fixers, the DGP today warned all members of the public not to be misled and cheated.
“The A & N Police goes strictly on merit during recruitments. Strict action will be taken against such cheats, if detected. The general public and the candidates have been advised to pass on information about such con agents to the SP (Anti-Corruption), Smt Aslam Khan, A & N Police,” he added.
Andaman & Nicobar Police is presently conducting a mega recruitment rally in this Union Territory for both male and female candidates. Police Department is presently the biggest employer in A & N Islands.
