Port Blair, June 09: UNNATI organized the de-addiction and stress management programme at Nilambur Panchayat on 07.06.2013 at 11. a.m in association with Brahma Kumari and Nilambur Gram Panchayat. Dr. Sachine Prab, Consultant Medical Advisor and trainer (De-addition), Mumbai was the chief guest who elaborately explained about ill-effect of the use of alcohol and tobacco and said that it should be tackled jointly by all concerned because the use of alcohol and tobacco which are the main causes of many major diseases. People addicted to alcohol required to take medicine and meditation as well for which interested people can avail the help of Brahma Kumari. He said he is very happy to see the serious involvement and working of UNNATI in this field for controlling addition through awareness generation programme.
Dr. Haldar from Brahma Kumari through said through homeopathic medicine is also very effective to teat addicted patient of alcohol and tobacco and interested person may contact him for advice. He cited various instances of addicted cases which were treated well through homeopathic medicine.
The talk of sister B. H. Asmita of Brahma Kumari on stress management through various examples was highly appreciated by the audience. Audience also practiced meditation along with sister Asmita and all enjoyed the practices demonstrated.
Mr. C. Mohammed, President, UNNATI said considering the increasing trend about the use of alcohol and tobacco administration may kindly consider to support and strengthen the concerned department with full complement of staff and needed infrastructure and to utilized their services exclusively for addressing this serious problem of addiction and to organize such programme on regular basis particularly in rural area.
