Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 29: Concerns have been raised regarding the increasing levels of road dust and rising surface temperatures in Sri Vijaya Puram, which are adversely affecting public health and the daily lives of residents.
In a formal representation submitted to the Lt. Governor and other senior administrative authorities, Mr. Angshuman Roy, State Youth President of Hindu Rashtra Shakti, highlighted the growing difficulties faced by islanders due to these environmental issues.
The representation emphasized the urgent need for the procurement and deployment of water sprinkler machines (road water spraying/mist systems) in the affected areas. Such systems, successfully implemented by agencies like the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, have proven effective in controlling airborne dust and reducing heat levels in urban environments.
It was stated that the deployment of these machines would significantly help in improving air quality, reducing road surface temperatures, and providing much-needed relief to the residents of Sri Vijaya Puram.
Mr. Roy has urged the concerned authorities to take prompt and necessary action in the larger public interest to address the issue and ensure a healthier environment for the people of the islands.
