Port Blair, Jun 6: Mr. P.B Murugan, Chairperson, PBMC in his letter addressed to the Chairman, Airports Authority of India has registered a complaint against the Airport Director, Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair.
The Chairperson, PBMC in his letter informed the Chairman, AAI that on 31st of May 2013 he had visited the Veer Savarkar International Airport to receive one of the dignitaries of these Islands and as the Chairperson of PBMC he requested the Airport Director to let him use the VIP room at the Airport till the arrival of the flight.
Mr. Murugan further added that the Airport Director flatly refused to spare the room for him. Mr. P.B Murugan also informed the Chairman, AAI that Veer Savarkar International Airport is situated under the PBMC boundary and as per the protocol he is the First Citizen of the Port Blair Town.
Further Mr. Murugan added that on 2nd of June 2013 Mr. Lalit Kumar and his family members who were ordinary Go Air Flight passengers were allowed to use the VIP room of the Airport and were given royal treatment since they were guests of the Airport Director.
Mr. Murugan concluded his letter by writing that the CCTV footage will bring forth the acts of the Airport Director of VSIA, Port Blair and he also sought an enquiry into the matter and requested the Chairman, AAI to take appropriate action against the Airport Director.
