Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 10: Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan of GP Harinagar, along with Sarpanch Mr. Sumanta Das, met Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar IAS, the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on April 8, 2026, to discuss key developmental concerns. During the meeting, the Pradhan highlighted that despite a directive issued three years ago, the construction of a toilet block, bathroom, and bus stand at Billyground Bazaar, along with three additional bus stops by NHIDCL, remains pending. In view of the prolonged delay, he requested that these works be reassigned to the current National Highway contractor, to which the Chief Secretary assured appropriate action.
The delegation also reviewed the progress of GP Harinagar under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY). While acknowledging that several projects identified during the Gram Sabha chaired by the Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder, have been completed, they pointed out that a number of works are still pending across various line departments. The Chief Secretary reportedly assured that the remaining issues would be resolved at the earliest.
The Pradhan and Sarpanch expressed their sincere gratitude to the Chief Secretary and Mr. B.P. Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for their proactive support and continued guidance towards the overall development of GP Harinagar.
