Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 05: The much-awaited Ambedkar Mela 2026, a five-day cultural and social event, was inaugurated on April 1 at the Floodlight Ground, near E-Patwarkhana, Tushnabad Junction, under the aegis of Gram Panchayat Mithakhari & Youth Club Ograbraj. The programme commenced with floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, marking respect and remembrance of his invaluable contributions to the nation.
Mr. Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director of Tourism as the chief guest applauded the sincere efforts of Gram Panchayat Mithakhari for organizing such a meaningful and inclusive event for the community. The chief guest, other officials and PRIs also visited various departmental and other stalls, showcasing Government initiatives, local products, and community efforts. The mela received an overwhelming response, with a large turnout from the public.
Mohd Safiq, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Mithakhari, welcomed the gathering and informed about the significance of the mela. The celebration witnessed vibrant cultural programmes, including dance and singing performances by local talents, which captivated the audience.
As part of the event, prizes were distributed to school students who participated in the Drawing and Essay Competitions, which were jointly organised by Gram Panchayat Mithakhari, Youth Club Ograbraj, and Bodhisattava Ambedkar Cultural Association, Goalghar, encouraging creativity and awareness among the youth.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by P.A. Sharfuddin, Zilla Parishad Member, Mithakhari Constituency. The Ambedkar Mela 2026 will conclude on 5th April, 2026, featuring various cultural, educational, and awareness activities for the community.
