Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 05: It is a matter of immense pride and inspiration that the regional winners of team A&N Islands showcased exceptional talent at the prestigious IndiaSkills National Competition 2025-26. The competition was conducted at the onsite India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, UP, along with offsite venues at the Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Magadi, Ramanagara District, Karnataka, and L&T Construction Skills Training Institute, Vadnagar, Gujarat from 29.03.2026 to 02.04.2026.
A team of 13 dedicated competitors from the Islands participated across 8 different skill categories, demonstrating excellence, determination, and the true spirit of skill development. Competing against the best talents from across the country, the team brought immense pride to the Islands through their outstanding performance.
Achievements of Team A&N Islands:
• Plastering and Drywall Systems – Kumar Raj Biswas: Silver Medal
• Intelligent Security Technology – Kumar Chayan Mridha: Bronze Medal
• Carpentry – Kumar Shubham Paramanya: Medallion for Excellence
• Intelligent Security Technology – Kumar Mohammed Zahid: Medallion for Excellence
The Silver and Bronze medallists will now undergo rigorous training, development, and assessment in their respective skills under the guidance of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Based on their performance, the best competitor will be selected to represent India at the international platform of WorldSkills Shanghai, China, scheduled to be held in September 2026.
The entire event and participation of Team Andaman & Nicobar Islands were coordinated by ITI, Dollygunj. The team was led by Mr. Venketesh Ch., Principal / Deputy Apprenticeship Advisor, along with Mr. K. Naresh, Trainer, and Ms. K.S. Shivani, Trainer from ITI Dollygunj. The contribution of Vocational Instructors and Trainers from ITIs, whose guidance and mentorship played a crucial role, along with the hard work and dedication of the trainees, was instrumental in achieving this success.
This remarkable achievement reaffirms that the youth of A&N Islands are well-prepared to excel at national and global platforms, contributing towards building a skilled and empowered India.
