Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar 26: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has raised serious concern over the dialysis facilities at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Rangat, in Middle Andaman.
Highlighting the issue, Mr. Halder stated that the CHC currently has only four dialysis machines, out of which one is reserved for positive dialysis patients from Billiground. “This leaves only three machines for general patients, which is grossly insufficient to meet the growing demand,”
He further informed that around 26 patients are presently dependent on dialysis services at CHC Rangat. “With each dialysis session taking nearly 3 to 4 hours, patients are forced to endure long waiting periods, leading to severe hardship and potential health risks,” he added.
Expressing deep concern, Mr. Halder has urged the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) to immediately provide at least two additional dialysis machines at CHC Rangat to ensure timely and proper treatment for patients across North and Middle Andaman.
Reiterating his commitment to public welfare, Mr. Halder emphasized that access to essential healthcare services is a basic right and must not be compromised.
