
Sri Vijaya Puram, Mar. 24: A ceremony was held at Lok Niwas wherein Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency unveiled the new emblem of the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC).
The programme was attended by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS; the Chairperson, SVPMC, Shri Shahul Hameed; Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Dr. Sachin Shinde, IAS; Secretary (Urban Development), Ms. Purva Garg, IAS; Secretary to the Lt. Governor, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS; Secretary, SVPMC, Shri Kamleshwar Rao S, IAS; along with senior officers of the Administration, officials of SVPMC, SVC and JVC, and Councillors of SVPMC.
At the outset, the Secretary (Urban Development) presented an overview of the newly designed emblem, highlighting its vision and significance as a representation of the city’s collective aspirations. The Secretary, SVPMC, also elaborated on the various elements of the emblem to the Lieutenant Governor.
The newly unveiled emblem reflects Sri Vijaya Puram’s commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, greenery, and healthy living. It embodies continuity, civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, and a shared vision of progress, guided by the core values of “Sankalp, Sahyog, Samriddhi”.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Chairperson, SVPMC, Shri Shahul Hameed.
