On the occasion of the Andaman & Nicobar Police Raising Day, I extend my warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all ranks of the Andaman & Nicobar Police.
Through steadfast dedication to law enforcement, crime prevention and public service, the force has played a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure and peaceful environment for the residents and visitors of this unique Union Territory. This year marks 74 years since Shri Naushirwan Feroz Sauntook, IPS, assumed charge as the first Superintendent of Police on 16th January, 1953—an event that laid the foundation of a proud and enduring institution.
Over the decades, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has grown into a professional and people-centric force, responding effectively to emerging challenges while upholding the highest standards of integrity and discipline. The observance of this occasion through community-oriented initiatives, awareness programmes, cultural interactions and youth engagement activities reflects a strong commitment to participatory and inclusive policing.
The focused efforts to combat drug abuse, along with the pioneering work of the Cyber Crime Police Station in addressing cyber threats through proactive action and awareness, are particularly commendable. The honour conferred upon Police Station Pahargaon as the Second-Best Police Station in India stands as a shining testimony to the force’s professionalism and operational excellence.
On this proud occasion, I am confident that the Andaman & Nicobar Police will continue to serve with dedication, transparency, compassion and courage. I extend my best wishes to all members of the force and their families, and wish them continued success in upholding justice and public trust.
