
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 12: On 12th January 2026, Zilla Parishad Vivekanand Kendra Vidyalaya, Shore Point, South Andaman, celebrated the 163rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda along with National Youth Day with great enthusiasm and reverence. The programme was organized to inspire students with the ideals, teachings, and vision of Swami Vivekananda.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. S. Boominathan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, and the Guest of Honour, Smt. Dhana Rekha, Zilla Parishad Member, Shore Point Constituency. Other dignitaries were also present. The guests were accorded a warm welcome with flower bouquets, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Headmistress, Smt.Sita Das. This was followed by a series of vibrant and meaningful cultural performances. Students presented patriotic and folk dances, a skit depicting the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, a speech highlighting the significance of National Youth Day, and the soulful recitation of the Swadesh Mantra. The active participation of both students and teachers added depth and spirit to the celebration.
Prize distribution was conducted by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, President of PTA & SMC, and the Headmistress, encouraging and appreciating the talents and achievements of the students.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by the chanting of the Shanti Mantra and the National Anthem. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 320 parents and 330 students, making the celebration truly memorable and meaningful.
