
The Street Chess initiative continues to attract chess enthusiasts of all ages as the second such programme in Little Andaman was successfully organized this evening at R K Pur Bazaar by the Directorate of Education, with the support of PM SHRI GSSS R K Pur & the Gram Panchayat, R K Pur. The event attracted players of all ages, each showcasing their love for the game in front of an enthusiastic crowd of Little Andaman.
The programme was inaugurated by Smti. Seuli Mondal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat R.K. Pur, who made the ceremonial first move on the chessboard amidst an enthusiastic gathering.
Beyond being a recreational activity, the Street Chess event served as a meaningful platform to promote a positive and healthy environment. The initiative aimed to steer participants away from unhealthy habits and excessive screen time, while fostering mental discipline, patience, and critical thinking.
