
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 24: The Block Project Office (BPO), Car Nicobar successfully organized Divya Kala Mela and Divya Kala Shakti for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) under the Inclusive Education Programme of Samagra Shiksha on 22nd December 2025 at Bal Bhavan, GMPS Kinyuka, Car Nicobar.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Derick Jacob, First Headman, Kinyuka Village, Car Nicobar, and the Special Guest, Mr. Sambhu Nath Kundu, Assistant Engineer (ALHW). The event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Swapan Paik, Education Officer, Car Nicobar, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, parents, teachers, officials, and students, and highlighted the importance of inclusive education and equal opportunities for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
As part of the Mela, stalls were arranged for displaying Nicobari local cuisine food, along with exhibits of 2D and 3D models, art and craft items, paintings, and Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs). Assistive devices used for teaching CwSN at the resource room were also showcased, creating awareness about inclusive teaching practices and supportive learning tools.
The programme aimed to provide a vibrant platform for CwSN to showcase their talents, creativity, and cultural skills through various activities and exhibitions. The event highlighted the abilities and confidence of CwSN while promoting inclusion, dignity, and equal participation.
Teachers, parents, CRC Coordinators, and education officials actively supported and encouraged the children throughout the programme. The event created an atmosphere of joy, motivation, and awareness on the importance of inclusive education and community participation.
The Block Project Office, Car Nicobar expressed sincere appreciation to all stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment in making Divya Kala Mela & Divya Kala Shakti a meaningful and memorable celebration of inclusion and empowerment of CwSN.
