Port Blair, May 15: The Port Blair Municipal Council in its endeavor to extend services to the citizens has planned to provide 25 Nos. Modern type bus waiting shed in the Municipal area within a period of three months.
On 15/5/2013 at about 10.00 a.m. Shri P.B. Murugan, Chairperson, PBMC along with Shri M. Arumugam, Sr. Vice Chairperson, SE., EE (Works) and other officers of the Council visited School Line junction for erection of the first Modern type bus waiting shed in place of the existing old one for the benefit of general public. The Jr. Engineer, SAD and the Forest Ranger of the area were also present during the inspection/visit. Shri P.B. Murugan, Chairperson, PBMC directed the EE, PBMC to initiate action immediately so that the Bus waiting shed is ready for use before 1st June, 2013. Shri P.B. Murugan also directed the EE., (Works), PBMC to identify the locations in wards in consultation with the Ward Councils for erection of Modern type bus waiting shed.
