Sri Vijaya Puram, December 11: A grand patriotic celebration is set to take place in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to mark 116 years of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s timeless ode “Sāgara Pran Talamalala…”. The Valuable Group is organizing a special commemorative event on December 12, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Sri Vijaya Puram.
As part of the celebration, a majestic statue of Swatantryaveer Savarkar will be unveiled at Beodanabad, by the seashore—the very setting that once inspired the legendary revolutionary’s poetry. The unveiling will be conducted by Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, in the presence of Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.
The statue has been conceptualized by Mr. Ameya Hete, Founder of the Mumbai-based Valuable Group, and sculpted by Padma Bhushan awardee Mr. Ram Sutar. It stands as a symbol of Savarkar’s unwavering nationalism, sacrifice, and fearless ideology.
Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi (Retd.), the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, along with Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs and IT Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, will attend as distinguished guests. Several eminent personalities, including Padma Shri Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Ms. Usha Mangeshkar, actor Mr. Randeep Hooda, historian Dr. Vikram Sampath, and actor Mr. Sharad Ponkshe, will also grace the event.
The ceremony will feature soulful patriotic presentations by the Valuable Group, offering a tribute to Savarkar’s literary and cultural legacy. A special rendition of Savarkar’s emotional composition “Ne Majasi Ne Parat Matrubhumi La, Sāgara Pran Talamalala” will be performed by Padmabhushan Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Mr. Usha Mangeshkar, and their team. Other renowned works penned by Savarkar and composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar—such as “Jayostute,” “Jai Jai Shivrayā,” and “He Hindu Nrisinghā”—will also be showcased.
“This ceremony is not merely a cultural program; it is a humble salute to the inspiring history of India’s freedom struggle. It is our effort to ignite patriotism in future generations and express gratitude to Veer Savarkar for his sacrifices,” said Mr. Ameya Hete, Founder of Valuable Group.
The event is being coordinated by Mrs. Manjiri Hete and Prasad Mahadkar of Merak Events.
