Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 12: The Office of the District Magistrate, South Andaman, has issued a notification announcing temporary traffic restrictions across several key roads in connection with a scheduled VVIP visit to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on December 11 and 12, 2025.
Exercising powers under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Administration’s 2008 notification, the District Magistrate has ordered regulated traffic movement during specific hours to facilitate smooth passage of the VVIP convoy, while ensuring minimal inconvenience to the general public.
On December 12, 2025, traffic restrictions will remain in effect from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM on the following routes VIP Road, Netaji Stadium, Marina Park Road, Police Lines, Airport Road, Dollygunj, Bathu Basthi Road, Chidyatapu Road.
Emergency vehicles travelling from Garacharma to Aberdeen Bazaar will be diverted through the Attampahad–Dollygunj route. On all other routes, emergency vehicles will be facilitated through restricted corridors as required.
The administration clarified that no road will be completely closed or blocked at any time, and routine traffic flow will continue. The measures are temporary and solely intended to maintain orderly movement during the VVIP visit.
