Harinagar/Billiground, Nov. 21: The PHC Billiground is plagued by the absence of an ambulance at the health centre.
According to information, the PHC Billiground was facilitated with an ambulance and which was sent to Sri Vijayapuram on 04-11-2025 with a referred patient, and which is reportedly still under repair and has not yet returned to the PHC. Due to this, the PHC is currently reportedly functioning without an ambulance.
Further, talking to to Andaman Sheekha Daily, the Pradhan, GP Harinagar Shri Manojit Halder said that, upon the request of this Panchayat and the perusal of the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Sri Vijayapuram, the Health Department had allotted a new ambulance for PHC Billiground bearing Registration No. AN 01 S 2803 (Force Traxx). However, the very ambulance has been reportedly diverted to CHC Mayabunder, he informed.
On the other hand, PHC Billiground plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to the general public of this region. The residents from Panchawati village to Basantipur are fully dependent on PHC Billiground for medical assistance. However, the PHC is presently facing a severe challenge due to the non-availability of an ambulance since 04-11-2025, Mr. Halder decried.
The Pradhan has written a letter addressed to the Director, DHS, Sri Vijaya Puram to this effect urging the authority to provide an ambulance on priority for the convenience of the general public, he further said.
