Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 16: Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, along with a team of officers from the APWD headed by Mr. Tej Bahadur, Superintending Engineer, CC-I and officials from the Department of Revenue, Agriculture and Disaster Management, conducted a joint inspection of the flood-prone area near Sitla Temple, Guptapara on 13.11.2025.
During the inspection, the team assessed the extent of recurrent flooding in the region and its adverse impact on nearby households as well as agricultural plantations. After detailed discussion and on-site evaluation, it was decided that the concerned department will initiate necessary corrective measures to prevent recurrence of flooding and to safeguard the lives, properties, and agricultural activities of the local residents.
The Adhyaksh assured the public that all possible steps will be taken in coordination with the line departments to ensure timely and effective mitigation of the issue.
