Port Blair, May 07: A Workshop was conducted by PBMC with the support of ANET (NGO) on Dt. 4.5.2013 in the premises of Delanipur Community Hall from 9.00 am for supervisory staff of PBMC in techniques to distinguish wet/dry waste and also to educated them as how to encourage the residents to take-up source segregation.
Mr. P.B Murugan Chairperson, PBMC was the Chief Guest of the occasion and stressed on the importance of systematic solid waste management system with support of public co-operation and not to throw garbage on the streets and mullahs etc and to keep their surroundings clean.
Smti. Jameela Bibi Chairperson public Health & Sanitation, Mr. Inder Pal Singlh, Ward Councilor, Ward No.4 and the Official of PBMC also attended the event.
On the occasion, a multimedia presentation on “Segregation of waste at source” was made by Miss. Tasneem Khan, Assistant Director ANET, educating the sanitary supervisory staff as to how to collect, distinguish & segregate garbages by residents, Mr. Rishikesh, Sr. Scientist of ANPCC also spoke on management of solid waste and plastic waste in a most acceptable manner. Mr. Inder Pal Singh, Councilor Ward No. 4 PBMC proposed the vote of thanks.
Madam Tasneem Khan, pl come down to Rangat to educate the PRI’s and general public to not to throw garbage / waste of chicken on the street corner , beaches ,nallahs and along the coastline leading from Aamkunj to Panchwati .
