Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 11: The Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, Mr. Prakash Adhikari, accompanied by the Executive Engineer (ZPSA) and other engineering officials, undertook an official visit to Saheed Dweep on Sunday, 9th November 2025, to review the progress of ongoing developmental works.
During the visit, the Adhyaksh inspected key infrastructure projects, including roads and community facilities being executed by the Zilla Parishad. He emphasized the need to maintain quality standards and ensure timely completion of all projects to benefit the residents of the island.
As part of the visit, Mr. Adhikari held interactions with local PRI memnbers, representatives of developmental departments, and residents at the IP&T Guest House, Neil Kendra. The discussions focused on local developmental priorities, civic amenities, and public service delivery.
Several island-specific issues were brought to the Adhyaksh’s attention, including the revival of the non-functional water project of ZPSA, streamlining HT lines and replacement of damaged electric Poles, provision of wheel chair and trolley at jetty, construction of Passenger Hall & renovation of ticket counter, cutting of dangerous trees over Anganwadi centre at Laxmanpur among others. He assured that all matters would be thoroughly examined and taken up with the concerned departments of the Administration for appropriate action.
The visit reflects the continued commitment of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, towards fostering equitable development, enhancing public infrastructure, and improving service delivery across the islands.
