
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 9:To promote sustainable agriculture and self-reliance, the Agriculture Department is distributing quality saplings of fruits and spices to the farmers of the Agriculture Zones.
In Diglipur, the distribution of planting materials has been initiated from Nov. 6 and the process is underway to make available the planting materials to maximum farmers. This effort is being continued in all the zones to ensure the availability of quality planting materials to the farmers which are suitable to the region’s agro climatic conditions. The farmers have been sensitized on the scientific cultivation practices of fruits and spices by the extension functionaries of the respective zones and also informed the PRI members of all Panchayats.
The financial assistance for area expansion of fruits and spices is being extended to the implementing beneficiaries under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) -Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) as per details below:
