Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 02: The four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on ‘Championing Change: Empowering Women Leaders in Local Governance for District-Level Master Trainers’ under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) concluded at the State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC), Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, Marine Hill under the guidance of Secretary (RD/P).
In his address, Mr. Rajesh Chopra, IAS, Secretary (RD/P) underlined the importance of women’s leadership at the grassroot level. He encouraged the Master Trainers to act as catalysts for change by transferring their learning to the field and promoting gender-responsive governance. He also distributed certificates and training kits to the participants.
Mr. Apurva Sharma, Director (RD/PRIs), in his address, emphasized the significance of empowering women representatives in Panchayati Raj Institutions and how such training contributes to building inclusive and effective local governance systems. He appreciated the active participation and commitment of the trainees throughout the four days.
Welcoming the chief guest and the participants, Mr. Bijoy Kumar Das, State Nodal Officer (RGSA), highlighted the objectives of the training and the importance of capacity-building initiatives under the RGSA scheme.
