Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 31: The Andaman & Nicobar Police under the supervision of DGP A&N Islands Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm across the Islands to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
Programmes were organized at 26 Police Stations, 08 Police Units, and 04 Fire Stations under the supervision of SSP South Andaman Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, SP Police Marine Force Mrs. Niharika Bhatt, SP N&M Andaman Mr. Sunny Gupta, SP Nicobar Mr. Rahul Kumar and SP Armed Police Unit Mrs. Niyati Mittal highlighting the spirit of unity, integrity, and collective participation among police personnel and citizens alike.
A series of events were held across different locations, including Run for Unity, Marathon, Tree Plantation Drives, and Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Campaigns. In addition, several special and distinctive activities added vibrancy to the celebrations — such as Underwater Diving, Sea Kayaking, Skits on Social Issues, Educational Excursions for School Students, a Bike Rally, and Drawing & Painting Competitions. A grand Unity Day Parade, featuring contingents from all Units of the Andaman & Nicobar Police, further highlighted the spirit of discipline, national integration, and collective pride. These initiatives collectively promoted social awareness, environmental responsibility, and ethical values, while strengthening police–community engagement and reaffirming the ideals of unity and integrity envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The celebrations had a positive and lasting impact on both police personnel and the general public. For the police, the observance served as a reminder of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision as the architect of the Indian Police Service, inspiring renewed commitment to professionalism, unity, and public service. For the public, the inclusive activities fostered trust, cooperation, and appreciation for the police’s role in promoting peace and harmony.
The observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2025 by the Andaman & Nicobar Police truly reflected the essence of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, reinforcing the shared ideals of unity, service, and national integrity across the Islands.
