Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 19: The District Industries Centre, Department of Industries organized a series of Awareness-cum-Motivational Programme on Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other Govt. Sponsored schemes of the Department at various pockets of Shaheed Dweep to disseminate information to the aspiring entrepreneurs about the PMEGP Schemes apart from other incentive oriented various Schemes of the Departments. The programmes were organized in association with PRI, Banks, & Tour Operators at Gram Panchayat Office, Vegetable Market Hall and Laxmanpur No.1 respectively.
About 60 youth attended the programme during which they were motivated in setting up self-employment ventures under manufacturing, service and business sector by availing the opportunity under PMEGP Scheme. The program also had interactive session for responding to the queries raised by the participants on the operating modalities, training, subsidy and timelines for obtaining benefit under the scheme.
