
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 19: The Inner Wheel Club of Port Blair organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at JNRM College, Vijayapura, on 15th October 2025.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal of JNRM College, graced the occasion and was warmly honoured. Mrs. Manju (Teacher) was welcomed by Mrs. R. Mahajan.
During his address, Mr. Hemant Kumar Sharma emphasized that the younger generation should avoid excessive use of cosmetics, as they can be harmful to health. He further added that a healthy youth leads to a healthy nation.
Club President Mrs. Pallavi Gupta highlighted the importance of spreading awareness among students, stating that “if students are aware, they can educate others and help prevent breast cancer in society.”
Dr. Sanampreet Kaur, ( Dr Ritika clinic) conducted an informative session using a projector presentation, explaining the causes, prevention, and early detection of breast cancer. Students actively participated by asking insightful questions and clearing their doubts.
The Inner Wheel Club also organized an on-the-spot slogan writing competition, where students expressed their thoughts creatively. The best slogans were awarded prizes, and three winners received special recognition.
Several IWC members attended the event, including Mrs. R. Mahajan, Mrs. Neeta Agarwal (Senior Member), Mrs. Komal Anand (Active Member), Charter Member Mrs. Gauri Lal, Past President Mrs. Bakhtawar Noble, Mrs. Rajani Ahuja, and Mrs. Sarita Singh. Among the audience, Mrs. Rama Gupta and many senior teachers participated enthusiastically and appreciated the informative session.
The programme successfully spread awareness among students and faculty, creating a positive impact towards early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
