Port Blair, Apr 29: A delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Teachers’ Association (ANTA) led by the PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma today called on the Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM at Raj Niwas and raised various issues concerning the teaching community.
They expressed gratitude towards the Lt Governor for not implementing the enhanced working hours for teachers during last year and further requested him for not implementing the same during this academic year. A host of other issues such as regularization of adhoc appointments, filling up of vacant posts in the education department etc. were also taken up.
The Lt Governor assured them that all the issues will be looked into in a positive manner and efforts will be made so that students, teachers and parents community are benefited equally.
