Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 10: As part of the observance of World Sight Day, the Block Project Office, Diglipur, under Inclusive Education, Samagra Shiksha, organized an Eye Screening Camp at GPS Nabagram, Diglipur, for students and teachers.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Kishori Mondal, PST, followed by an inspiring inaugural address by Ms. Rina Biswas, H.M (P). Ms. Chandni Yadav, Optometrist, delivered an informative orientation session on the Importance of Eye Health, highlighting the need for regular vision check-ups and preventive eye care practices.
A dedicated medical team from PHC Kalighat, comprising Dr. Shipra Mistry (Ayurveda), Ms. Chandni Yadav (Optometrist), and Ms. Priya (CHO), conducted the eye examinations with great enthusiasm and care.
A total of 48 participants, underwent screening by the optometrist. The overall programme was coordinated by Ms. Rakhi Kabiraj, BRP (CwSN), BPO Diglipur, ensuring smooth execution of the event.
The camp served as a significant step toward promoting awareness on eye health and emphasized the importance of early detection of vision-related issues among school children and teachers. Such initiatives under Inclusive Education continue to foster a healthier and more inclusive learning environment across the Diglipur Educational Zone.
