Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 1:UT Administration, is consistently working with an objective to empower each home with solar power under PM Surya Ghar:Muft Bijli Yojana, by organizing awareness camps, sensitizing the people with the benefits of this scheme through electronic and print media. The tireless efforts of Administration is gaining momentum and consumers all across the Isles are now coming forward to enroll themselves under PM Surya Ghar:Muft Bijli Yojana, to avail the benefit of this scheme.
Adding in this chain is Shri. BhagyadharMazumder, R/o of Govind Nagar, Swaraj Dweep has become the first resident of Swaraj Dweep, to get a 6 KW Solar Roof Top Plant commissioned at his residence today, under PMSGMBY, setting an example and inspiring many other residents.
Dr. Sachin Shinde, IAS, Commissioner–cum–Secretary (Power), during his recent visit to Swaraj Dweep, interacted with PRI members and local residents on power-related matters and the promotion of the PM Surya GharMuft Bijli Yojana. On the occasion, he also felicitated Shri Mazumder at his residence for opting for solar power as a step towards a sustainable future. He also shared valuable insights, emphasizing on the benefits of the schemes, subsidy component, easy loan facility, energy security etc., and urged the residents for their active participation.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner – Cum – Secretary (Power), also appraised residents about the actions in pipelines to ensure augmentation of additional generation capacity of 1.5 MW by 10th of October, 2025 to maintain seamless power during the ensuing tourist season.
