Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30: The State Institute of Education (SIE), in collaboration with Hope Foundation and A&N Police, organized an awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Drug Abuse, and the NAVCHETNA programme at GSSS Manarghat and GSSS Wimberlygunj on Sept. 27.
Students were made aware on the provisions of the POCSO Act, their rights, and the importance of reporting unsafe situations without fear. They were also educated about the ill effects of drug abuse and encouraged to adopt healthy life skills for a positive and safe lifestyle.
Additionally, 42 teachers were oriented on the implementation of the NAVCHETNA Module – ‘A New Consciousness on Life Skills and Drug Education for School Children’, aligned with NEP 2020, to promote holistic student development.
