
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 18: Based on credible inputs, a team composed of Mr. V. A. Kamruddin, Forest Guard, Mr. Jems Kujur, Head Forest Guard, Mr. K Veeraswamy, Forest Guard and Mr. P. Mujibur Rehman, Forest Guard, Mr. T. Abdul Salam & Mr. Palash Kumar Roy, Mazdoors, conducted night patrolling at Shoalbay creek. During the patrolling, the team checked a suspicious Engine Dinghy and found a live female spotted Deer confined inside a Plank Dinghy.
The team seized the dinghies & live female spotted deer under cover of seizure memo on the spot under section 50 (1) (c) of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and the accused were detained and taken along with the rescued deer to Range HQ Mannarghat and handed over the case to the Range office for further action.
A wildlife offence case was registered against the accused persons. After completing the codal formalities, the accused were produced before Hon’ble court of CJM, Sri Vijay Puram on 17.09.2025. The overall operation was conducted under able guidance of Mr. Hosea, Range Officer, Mobile Squad and Mr. L. Moses, Range Officer, Mannarghat. On that same day the live spotted deer was handed over to the Biological Park Chidiyatabu around 1930 hours.
