Car Nicobar, Sept. 17:The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has launched the health campaign — “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” from Sept. 17 to Oct. 2, culminating on Gandhi Jayanti. The Abhiyaan was undertaken in close convergence with Poshan Maah being observed by Ministry of Women and Child Development & was inaugurated nationally by the Hon’ble Prime Minister from Madhya Pradesh.
In Car Nicobar, the programme was officially launched by Shri. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, in the Conference Hall, BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar. He encouraged the local people to participate in huge numbers and avail maximum benefits from these camps. In addition, he also requested the Village Captains and lady representatives for their prompt involvement to encourage the villagers for actively participation in this camp.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Partha Mondal, Nodal Officer (SNSPA), under the guidance of Dr. Grace, CMO, Medical Superintendent i/c. BJR Hospital, C/N. During the Programme women from different villages of Car Nicobar actively participated in the programme.
As part of the Abhiyaan, different health camps will be organized at different Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) of Car Nicobar where various health services will be provided to women. Key activities to be organized during the fortnight includes NCD Screening, TB Screening, Anaemia and Sickle cell Anaemia screening, ANC Check-up, Immunization, Awareness of Menstrual Hygiene and Nutrition for Women, Registration for PMJAY, ABHA ID, Nikshay Mitra, PMMVY etc.
