Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 17: The Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs launched the State-level ‘Swachhta Hi Seva 2025’ campaign today at GP Beodnabad in coordination with Gram Panchayat and Block-level authorities. The campaign is scheduled to be observed from 17th September to 2nd October, 2025.
The launch program commenced with the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ pledge, administered by Dr. Apurva Sharma, Director (RD/P) reinforcing the collective commitment towards building a clean and healthy society. Addressing the gathering, the Director emphasized the need for consistent individual efforts, encouraging everyone to dedicate at least 100 hours per year (approximately two hours per week) to cleanliness activities.
As part of the inaugural event, a cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the Panchayat Bhawan premises with active participation of Directorate staffs, Block-level officials, PRI members and local villagers. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic community involvement and cooperation showcasing a shared sense of responsibility and civic pride.
Similarly, the “Swachhta Hi Seva” 2025 campaign was simultaneously launched at the Block and Gram Panchayat levels across the UT. The aim is to ensure widespread public participation, raise awareness about the importance of sanitation, and encourage long-term behavioral change towards maintaining cleanliness.
This campaign stands as a tribute to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, who firmly believed that “cleanliness is next to godliness”, and envisioned a nation where true freedom is rooted in health, hygiene and a clean environment for all.
