Port Blair, 26 July: In a significant development for rural infrastructure and public service delivery, the Complaint Cell at Beodnabad has been upgraded to a full-fledged Site Office, addressing a long-standing demand of the local villagers.
Welcoming the initiative, Mr. Boominathan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, has written to the Director (Power), A&N Administration, requesting urgent deployment of manpower and logistical support to make the upgraded office fully functional.
While expressing his gratitude to the Power Department for the upgradation, Boominathan stressed that the current site office remains understaffed and ill-equipped to handle the operational demands of the region, which includes remote areas like Rutland Island. He emphasized that timely deployment of trained personnel and essential infrastructure is crucial to address local exigencies and to meet public expectations. He demanded a full time JE for the site office.
“The full benefit of this welcome development will only be realized when adequate staff and logistical backup are made available to the office,” he stated in his letter, underlining the importance of strengthening electricity services in remote islands.
Mr. Boominathan urged the administration to take immediate action to ensure the smooth functioning of the site office, which he believes will significantly contribute to enhancing service efficiency and responsiveness across the region.
