Sri Vijaya Puram, Jun 22: Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram, observed the 11th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and community participation under the global theme for this year – “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The event was led by the Airport Director, who highlighted the deeper meaning of the 2025 theme, which emphasizes the interconnection between individual well-being and the health of the planet.
The yoga session was held in the early morning hours within the airport premises and witnessed active participation from AAI officials, CISF personnel, airline staff, other stake holders and passengers. Under the guidance of a certified yoga instructor, participants performed a series of yogasanas, pranayama, and exercises promoting both physical vitality and environmental harmony.
To enhance awareness, informational displays and digital screens within the terminal showcased the benefits of yoga and its global significance.
In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized that yoga is a global movement for collective health and harmony, transcending borders and cultures. He envisioned yoga as a unifying force that not only enhances individual health but also fosters a conscious and sustainable lifestyle for the betterment of the Earth.
The program concluded with a collective pledge to adopt yoga as a regular part of life, recognizing its role in promoting resilience, environmental consciousness, and inner peace.
