Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: The Andaman & Nicobar Mahila Congress President Mrs. Zubaida Begum expresses its deep outrage over the derogatory and misogynistic remarks made by Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah against Army officer Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.
She said that Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a dedicated officer in the Indian Army, deserves recognition and respect—not slander. The minister’s comments reflect a disturbing mindset that has no place in public life or governance. Such behavior cannot be and should not be tolerated.
Mrs. Zubaida Begum further demands that the Government immediately remove Vijay Shah from his Ministerial post. In addition, she appeals the Madhya Pradesh High Court and the Supreme Court to intervene and ensure justice is delivered.
The Mahila Congress will not remain silent in the face of such injustice. If prompt action is not taken, they are prepared to escalate the protest into a widespread people’s movement to safeguard the dignity and respect of every woman in the nation.
