Port Blair, Apr 04: The Port Blair Municipal Council Collected revenue through various sources viz. Octroi, Property Tax, Water Charges, Market Rent, Conservancy Fees, Service Charges etc. to the tune of Rs.94.34 Crores during the current financial year 2012-13, which is an increase of 18% compared to last financial year.
“The achievement in the increase of revenue during the current financial year was possible only with the co-operation of residents of Municipal area, Govt. Depts., Members of Chambers of Commerce, other Businesses etc. Port Blair Municipal appreciates and acknowdges the co-operation extended by all the stake holders. The taxes collected by Port Blair Municipal will go a long way in improving the civic services and sanitation in the town,” a press release from Secretary, Municipal Council said here today.
