Port Blair, Apr 4: The employees of Havelock Forest Division on 28th March 2013 has reconstituted its union as “Andaman Forest Employees Union, Havelock” and affiliated the union with INTUC. The Union consists of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma as its President, Mr. V Karuppaiah, Mrs. Abala Samaddar as Vice president. Mr. KP Aboobacker, Mr. Khagain Mondal, Mr. Jagdish, Mrs. Uma Maheshwari and Mr. Dharma Rao are included as General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Organizing Secretary and Treasurer respectively, while Mrs. Josna Dhali, Mrs. Ganga Rao, Mr. Philip Toppo, Mr. Kaladius Minj, Mr. Telesphore Lakara, Mr. Prabhusai Barla and Mr. Shaten Mistry are included as executive members.
After constitution of the Union, the President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded the Divisional Forest Officer, Havelock Forest Division for proper toilets for each unit of accommodations of workers separately, providing drainage and repairing of leaky roofs. Mr. Sharma has also demanded for piped water facility to the accommodations of Mazdoors of Krishna Nagar Camp from the existing water storage tank constructed by the APWD.
