Port Blair, Apr 3: M.V Chowra finally sailed for its voyage to Hutbay and Car Nicobar this afternoon after more than a day long ordeal, confusion and inconvenience. The ship could not sail for Hut Bay and Car Nicobar Yesterday as the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) could not manage a doctor for the ship yesterday.
Passengers onboard the ship had to face a lot of problems and hardships because of the mismanagement of the SCI. The passengers were stranded inside the vessel for the whole day and night yesterday. The vessel as anchored on the sea with troubled and harassed passengers or more than 24 hours.
Andaman Sheekha contacted SCI officials no one was willing to comment on the record.
However, a senior officer, on the condition of anonymity clarified that the demand of the certified doctors is more and there is a lack of such doctors in these Islands. They further informed that the Doctor reached Port Blair at 12:45 noon today and same time he was deployed in the Ship and the Ship sailed on its voyage at 1:00 Pm today.
