Port Blair, Apr 03: Kumari Deborah, who made the Islands proud by winning three medals in International cycling tournament – one silver and two bronze medals in the 33rd Hero Asian Cycling Championship held in Indira Gandhi Stadium Velodrome, New Delhi was today felicitated by the Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Port Blair.
Shri. Bhagat Singh, the Chairman of the Bank, handed over a cheque of Rs. 51,000 to Kumari Deboraah in a simple function organised at Bank’s premises. The programme was attended by Shri. S. Sengupta, coach of Kumari Deborah, Shri. Andrews, Centre In-charge, SAI and officials and staff members of the Bank.
Congratulating Kumari Deborah, the Chairman stated that it is the happiest day for him as she had done the state and the nation proud by her remarkable achievement. In the begining, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director welcomed Kumari Deborah, her coach and other officials of SAI and appreciated the efforts of Kumari Deborah as well as other officials in achieving such a great goal. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri. K Murugan, General Manager of the Bank.
