Port Blair, Mar 25: Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Union opened one more tailoring and Fashion Design Course at Subhash Gram Panchayat Bhawan, Diglipur on 23rd March, 2013 which was inaugurated by Dr. Vivek Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur. In his welcome speech Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU stated that the motto of the Union is to make the rural womenfolk, housewives and unemployed girls self independent through such training.
He also urged the participants not to waste their skill which they get from this training and opt for constituting Self Help Groups and have their own small business. Mr. Sharma also added that this is the era when womenfolk should come out of their houses and help their family heads with their earnings and he is sure, if they know their importance in the society, they can certainly prove their calibre.
Dr. Kumar expressed his happiness on inauguration of such a training centre in Diglipur and thanked the team of the Union for initiating steps for upliftment of the rural women.
Total fifty three women of various age groups have enrolled themselves for the training. A total twenty five successful trainees of Tailoring and Fashion Designing of Milangram centre of ANSCU were distributed the pass certificates in the same programme.
