Port Blair, Mar 14: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair is presently conducting its Final examinations and on 13th March 2013. The students had their Hindi Examination but most of the students came back distressed and depressed from the examination halls.
According to students, they faced a lot of difficulties while writing the examinations as the question paper was not at all readable and were poorly printed.
Further the parents complained that their wards had studied for the day and nights but still they were not able to do well in their final examination because of the poor printing of the question paper.
“Read this question paper and you will know how difficult it is to read even a single question. Just imagine how students must have written the answers,” said an angry parent.
“Hindi is easy subject for me but I still think that this time I will fail as I could not understand the questions. Although when we demanded, teachers came and explained but then also time was a problem and the paper went really bad,” said a student of the school.
When, Andaman Sheekha contacted Mr. S. Vijay Kumar, Principal, VKV to clarify the facts. Mr. Vijay Kumar informed Andaman Sheekha that until last year, the paper of class ninth was sent by CBSE in Compact Discs but from this year they have started sending the papers online and in PDF formats which is not editable without specific softwares.
He also informed that the CBSE is outsourcing the question papers to other organizations and individuals who make the paper in different fonts which is not clear while printing and not only VKV but many schools all over the country faced such problems.
Mr. Vijay also informed that the school has decided to conduct re-examination and that is scheduled to be taken on 22nd of March 2013.
When Mr. Vijay was questioned on how they are going to tackle the situation from the next time to avoid these kinds of re-examinations he told that they are going to retype the whole question paper and then print it here, for better quality.
However, due to mistake of authorities now students will have to write the Hindi Exam once again, which is nothing but an additional headache for the students.
